When do I need to access counselling?

People come to the idea of accessing counselling for various reasons, and the quote by Viktor Frankl, a psychiatrist who was the founder of logotherapy ( healing through meaning ) captures the desire for change.

Sometimes a situation, event, memory, relationship, feeling or conflict may bring us to counselling. Sometimes it is about processing a past event or a current struggle. Sometimes it is about having a safe, non-judgmental space to talk about your life. There are so many things out of our control but at the end of the day we have control over our own thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Do you have something in your life that is causing distress and interfering in some part of your life?
Does the issue cause you to withdraw from people, places or activities?
Does the issue cause you to revisit the issue multiple times a day with no resolution?
Do you experience intrusive thoughts or anxiety?
Does the issue negatively impact your work, school, or relationships?
Are you experiencing feelings of anger, resentment, sadness, apathy, hopelessness, withdrawal...
Therapy can take time, and symptoms and resolution is not always immediate. Change can be challenging and it take courage to change.
